We awoke to find the clouds had dispersed somewhat around Engelberg but the summit of Mt Titlis was still obscured. Rain water was still rushing off the mountain even though it had been over 24 hours ago the rain had stopped. Our room had views of another mountain though...
It was a long, long drive in the coach today, the mountains disappear as soon as you leave Lucerne, merging into rolling ills and farm districts. Rural France is like Italy, very green, lots of trees and lots of crops. Apart from the roadsigns and different house styles you could forget where you were for a moment and think you were somewhere just north of Melbourne.

After eight or nine hours in the coach we arrived in Paris, drove around the city for a while and went to the famous Louvre. The guided tour may have impressed some but after Italy with all its statues we were a bit under impressed and did not see anywhere near enough paintings.
The tour included some of Da Vinci paintings including the famous Mona Lisa, frankly I could never work out why that one in particular is so famous. Huge crowds surrounded it so we knew where it was. If the Mona Lisa left us underwhelmed the size of the Louvre did not, it is just massive and a pity we did not spend more time exploring finding paintings we did like. Still we don’t want to sound like whingers, it was still marvellous and maybe we should start reading some more to improve our knowledge.
