Day 19

Leisurely drive off to Birmingham with a stop at Duxford for Wally to go through some aeroplane hangers but guess what it was his lucky day, the girls may have got their nails done but Wally got to see an Air Show!!! Not sure if he really knew and did not let on?? Here he can fill in what he saw to for all you plane lovers out there!! Braedy and I reckon they all look the same; they have wings, engines, make a noise and fly in the air??

Seven Spitfires, a Hurricane and three Me 109’s all flying at once buzzing the field from all directions was just a delight, add in six Mustangs, a Lancaster, a B17 Flying Fortress, four Kittyhawks, three Skyraiders, two Sea Fury’s, a couple of Fokker Triplane replicas and four Hawker Fury bi planes – what a great day. Add in the massive museum complex, wow. The camera is exhausted!!

Arrived at our neat but tiny B&B in Birmningham, a walk to an all you can eat place for dinner offering every nationality possible including a chocolate fountain.

Found a laundrette but I was closed. Caroline finally in her birth place not sure how to think or feel all a bit overwhelming ‘cos she does not recognise anything. How can she, she left nearly 42 years ago. Tomorrow a drive to find the house she grew up in and the High School she went to.

  1. Good work Wally, I'm sure you didn't know about the airshow :-)
Looks like they had lots of the old planes for sure
